UEFA: Considers replacing Financial Fair Play with a salary cap

The noise caused by the transfer of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain has brought a lot of talk about the Financial Fair Play, at a time when Barcelona reportedly lost the player due to the salary cap of La Liga.

Now, news sources report that UEFA is seriously considering introducing a similar restriction on European clubs, replacing the FFP!

The report points out that the new measures could force teams to spend up to a certain percentage of their income on salaries – probably around 70% – with clubs escaping being required to pay a luxury tax.

These changes are expected to be formally proposed in September.
