The double Greek “good-bye” to the Champions League, with defeats-exclusion as the Olympiacos and PAOK, from Χάποελ Baer Sheba and Ajax amsterdam respectively, they leave without a Greek team in the top club competition and record a negative record… 20 years for the Greek football.
And that’s because the groups of the Champions League will not have a Greek representation for the first time after the season 1996/1997! Then, the champion Panathinaikos was defeated by Rosenborg in the rematch of the qualifiers with a 3-0 win in Norway, after the favour of 1-0 in the olympic STADIUM and was excluded from the groups.
Since then, that is, from the season 1997/1998 the groups of the Champions League had at least a Greek team, Olympiacos, and PAOK this year but don’t manage to overcome the… pitfall of the primaries and leave without Greek color… sheet.
