Turkey: New inflation record in March – Launched to 68.5%

At the highest level for over a year in March, the inflation rate in Turkey increased on an average of 68.5% compared to the same month last year, the statistical service announced today (3.4.2024). This is the highest rate since the end of 2022. In February, the inflation rate was still around 67.1%. Only from February to March, goods and services became nearly 3.2% more expensive. The Turks were forced to put a deeper hand in the pocket, especially for education, hotels, cafes and restaurants, as well as health care, transport and food.
