1956 – The Karamanlis government decides the tourism development of the Lycabettus hill, with the construction of a cable car and luxury truck stop.
1967 – Ending the War of Six Days and the triumph of the Israelis over the Arabs. The Israelis conquered the gaza Strip, the Sinai peninsula, the West Bank of the Jordan river, east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
