To the same or more expensive electricity tariffs in April – What affects their course

At levels slightly below February the wholesale market in our country moves in March, marking a monthly drop of less than 5%. This may theoretically prejudice the maintenance of the retail consumers’ pay near 10 minutes/KWh as in March, but the “devil” is in the details. In particular, the equation that brings the final price to green (regulated) electricity tariffs produces large reductions when wholesale falls continuously month by month. However, taking into account the great fall in February and then its steady course in March, the variable “b” eventually leads to higher values for April, estimated near 12 minutes/KWh. In this way, the initial expectation is overturned that electricity tariffs would fall next month. However, there is another crucial parameter that will affect what consumers will ultimately pay in April. The discount offered by suppliers may be revised every month. In March he retreated in many cases from 20% to 10% and might well increase again, absorbing part or all price increase. It is understood that the same is not true for each company, as according to their commercial policy the degree of discount on each product will be determined. In any case, consumers will expect to see final prices on its website on April 1st to make their choices.
