TO STOP PAYING THE MUNICIPALITY would go PIRAEUS

(Title) From August 13 the municipality of Piraeus will proceed to stop payment, said Panagiotis Fassoulas, at an extraordinary press conference.

The mayor said that Piraeus is unable to fulfill its obligations, including paying employees. According to P. Fasoulas, cause for economic impasse is the decision of the Deposits and Loans Fund to withhold 2.2 million grant from the state through independent resource for debt of the municipality of loans has gotten.

As said, these loans of the previous municipal authorities, adding that these days the city council has not taken any loans, and has gone to cover some of past obligations.

The problem has informed the Minister of Finance.
