They were caught with 20,775 smuggled packs of cigarettes in “Eleftherios Venizelos”: Five arrests

The arrest of five people carrying 20,775 smuggled packs of cigarettes, police announced. Arrested arrived by flight from Ethiopia to the airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. Police officers from Athens Airport Police Department arrested five foreigners, aged 25, 27, 45, 57 and 62, who tried to smuggle thousands of illegal cigarettes into the country. In particular, the five men arriving by flight from Ethiopia hid in their 19 luggage 20,775 packs of cigarettes that did not bring the prescribed tax films. Unreported tobacco products will be sent to the customs authorities for further action. The arrested were taken to the Athens Attorney of Defects.
