These are, in particular, farmers and breeders of Thessaly and, in particular, the regional units of Larissa, Magnesia and Karditsa, following the cross-referenced data received by the General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters and State Aid from the region of Thessaly. As the Ministry points out, the implementation of the second cycle of first aid to the areas affected by the devastating floods of September 2023, mainly concerning agricultural holdings and livestock farms, continues in a context of close cooperation with the regions. A total of EUR 12,748,000 have been paid to 2,285 agricultural holdings and livestock units, of which EUR 11,698,000 are related to 2,134 agricultural holdings and EUR 1,050,000 are for 151 livestock units. It is noted that, in the context of the second cycle of first aid to undertakings, farmers and farmers, 2,285 beneficiaries have been paid, while in total the cross-checking and payment process has been completed for around 5,157 applications, as some 2,872 beneficiaries, agricultural holdings, farmers and businesses, either have already received the first aid corresponding to the severity of the damage, as described by the Region concerned, since the first round of first aid, or have already received an advance amount of 50% of the eligible grant with which the first aid is offset. The second cycle of first aid was preceded by the first cycle of first aid to agricultural holdings and livestock farms in affected areas corresponding to payments of EUR 41,112,000 to 19,582 cases of farmers and farmers. In sum, then, the first and second cycles of first aid for farmers and farmers have been set at 53,860,000 euros. Following today’s payment, the Deputy Minister for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, responsible for the restoration of natural disasters and state aid, Christos Triantopoulos noted that “in a context of close cooperation with the region of Thessaly, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection goes on to pay the second cycle of first aid concerning, in particular, farmers and farmers. Up to now, EUR 12,75 million has been paid to 2,285 applicants, while the procedure has been completed for 5,157 applicants, as the rest have either received the 50% advance on state aid, or it appears – from the figures of the committees and state aid stages of the Region – that they do not belong to the beneficiary’s perimeter for additional amounts. The payments will continue over the following weeks, following the flow of data from the Region of Thessaly, which has been strengthened. At the same time, the provision of the 50% advance on state aid to farmers and farmers that can reach up to 200,000 euros per farmer or farmer is also progressed. And we continue, in close cooperation with everyone.” In particular, according to the Ministry, the 50% advance of the planned grant of State aid to agricultural holdings and livestock units for damage to fixed, freight, equipment, machinery, land capital and other relevant data is also advanced. Specifically, up to now 1,022,783 euros have been allocated to 304 farmers and farmers in Thessaly, with payments continuing depending on the flow of data from the Region of Thessaly and, in particular, the committees and state aid steps of the Region of Thessaly. At the same time, in 274 cases of agricultural holdings and livestock units the first aid granted was offset by the amount corresponding to the 50% advance on the grant of State aid. Therefore, the phase of granting the 50% advance of state aid to agricultural holdings and livestock farms has been completed for 578 beneficiaries. Therefore, the payment of the second cycle of first aid to agricultural holdings and livestock units continues according to the flow of data from the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece. The officials of the Directorate for State Assistance of the General Secretariat for the Rehabilitation of Natural Disasters and State Aid are in close contact with the Regions and the competent agencies to proceed with the work of the Committees and the National Aid Scales of the Regions, resulting in new first aid payments over the next few days.
