Thessaloniki: The trial of the 9 accused of the homophobic attack was postponed for the second time

The trial that was to begin on Friday, March 22, for the homophobic attack was postponed for October 31, due to an obstruction of a defense advocate. A postponement for the same date was also received the trial for the homophobic attack two days later, on March 11, after the episode in Aristotle Square by a 32-year-old, against the same victim. She came to the court on Friday to testify one of her two alleged victims in the central square of Thessaloniki against two members of the LGBTKI+ community. A case-file has also been formed for another person, who reportedly attacked him, a few days later, on the new beach. They are nine of the total 21 arrested, as the remaining 12 are minors and after their arrest they were released by oral order a prosecutor, after referring them previously to trial at the competent Juvenile Court. All arrested were prosecuted for insulting serials, with racist features, while two of the adults were charged with attempted simple physical harm serial. The Thessaloniki Primary Prosecutor’s Office is examining whether criminal responsibilities arise against the parents of minors.
