The 10 professions which -internationally – yield high payoffs without requiring a university degree . They need, however, some form of training and specialization..
The Careercast analyzed data from 200 professions and combined them with data from state authorities, professional associations and other sources.
Some of the professions of the ten do not reflect the reality in the Greece of the crisis, but they give a very good picture of what is in demand abroad, in order to search for corresponding opportunities.
1. Telecommunications technician
Everything in our days pass by telecommunication cables, antennas and facilities that need constant and careful maintenance in order to operate seamlessly 24 hours 24 hours a day. The training is done at technical schools, junior colleges and vocational senior high school.
2. Aircraft mechanic
The aircraft fleets are growing continuously and the passenger traffic is expected to increase by 35% in the next few years. This means more aircraft that need maintenance and more and more good paying jobs for their engineers. The training is done at the junior colleges (and in colleges) or equivalent schools abroad.
3. A respiratory therapist
Specialty is almost unknown in Greece, is the equivalent of a physiotherapist for respiratory diseases. Teaches breathing exercises and cough in order to strengthen the respiratory muscles and to mobilize the secretions. The demand is big in the USA.
4. Specialized craftsman
Plumber, electrician, mechanic, car/motorcycle/boat / cooling, handyman, heating etc. it is business that will always be necessary, as well as our homes and our vehicles will need maintenance and repairs. The training is done at technical schools, junior colleges and vocational senior high school.
5. A police officer
Under-represented profession in Greece of the crisis, but the crisis will not last forever – the improvement will come. It offers stability and good insurance since graduated with success from the relevant school.
6. Fashion Buyer
Abroad it is known as a retail buyer. Is the person who decides what kind of clothes and accessories would procure a store, essentially predicting what will be in fashion in the coming months or, even better, by setting the fashion. I don’t need no education, just experience and good results at work.
7. Web Designer/Programmer/Developer/Coder
Infinite opportunities, from the creation of websites, up to mobile apps and creation of a database of specialized software for businesses, is a field with many subspecialties in which everyone can find his own.
8. Nurse
The disciplines with the greatest shortage in all of Europe and, given the demographic increase in the aged population, the demand is not expected to be reduced. It offers wonderful opportunities of progression and movement – combined with the knowledge of foreign languages.
9. Farmer
The modern technology that makes no longer possible the production of specialized products (e.x. gluten-free), the great demand for organic products and the delivery of Greece to the crops offers opportunities for employment and success in working the land, and, indeed, in the current context of entrepreneurship; why, and the farmer an entrepreneur is.
10. Pilot aircraft
According to the forecasts of Boeing, by 2032 it will take 500,000 of new operators, the 200.000 only in the region of Asia and the Pacific, approximately 80,000 of them in China.
