The US embassy in Bulgaria warned the citizens of…
to avoid the busy public transport network in the Bulgarian capital, because of a “possible threat” at an undistinguished line bus of Sofia.
“The US embassy has received information of a possible threat against an undistinguished line of the bus or bus lines near the Hotel Pliska,” noted the embassy in a statement, which was posted late last night on Facebook, with a warning to its citizens to avoid this area, one of the main of Sofia.
A representative of the embassy confirmed the authenticity of this communication, but not clarified further, noting that the embassy does not comment on current investigations.
The Interior ministry of Bulgaria announced that he is not aware of a credible threat in the region, which is known informally for years as a Hotel Pliska, but the mayor of Sofia Γιορντάνκα Φαντάκοβα said that the police has strengthened its presence in the city.
The world seemed to be going to work as usual this morning in the area, and the buses followed the usual schedule.
