“The last straw”

Read the announcement: “The arrogance in the exercise of powers of government SYRIZA-ANEL has now surpassed all limits: this is the last straw. The government is causing with the appointments of ours in government positions and the recurring cases of appointments of relatives and friends members of the government in positions of μετακλητών and in positions of responsibility.
The Samaras government had actively implemented the effort for meritocracy and transparency in the public administration. In particular, with article sixth of law. 4079/2012 (government GAZETTE A’ 180/20-09-2012) introduced restrictions with regard to the manner of staffing of the organizational units of state officials (members of government and secretaries of state) and had adopted the prohibition on hiring spouses and relatives up to second degree for the set of state officials (members of government and secretaries of state) in accordance with the legislation in force may hire μετακλητούς officials, special advisers and experts to the political cabinets.
The current government’s policies and the “proud deal” leads to closure of hundreds of businesses, it forces to be transferred out of the country many other companies, oppose the development and have lost thousands of jobs. At the same time, intrigued with the attempt to seize the state and the appointment of relatives and friends of power, “partners” in government positions.
The recent announcement, from the secretary of the youth of SYRIZA, mr Jason Schinas-Papadopoulos after the revelation that his mother, his brother and his girlfriend have been appointed as μετακλητοί civil servants with salaries of the directors of ministries highlights only immorality, cynicism and obsession. At the same time, causing the public sentiment, the thousands of low-paid, and in particular the thousands of young scientists of the country who are unemployed.
Now becomes clear why from the spring of 2015 stopped by the suspension of the issue C of the Government Gazette, even on the website of the National Printing and publishing, since this issue is required to publish all decisions on appointments to state positions. It is now more difficult the search of these acts.
These acts constitute the practical implementation of the view of government members that “excellence is notoriety”. It is understandable why the current government disowned excellence. Unfortunately, these acts highlight a practice that personifies the social, cultural, spiritual and moral downfall of the government.
We believe in excellence and meritocracy, we support transparency and evaluation, and we call for the implementation of the entire spectrum of Greek society.
Further to the above,
ΕΡΩΤΩΝΤΑΙ PM
