The European electricity industry is hosted in Athens in May by PPC

Under the basic slogan “Open Lights” it is held in May by its great annual European conference in Athens. Specifically, the European electricity link Eurelectric with PPC host will host the entire branch of Old Epirus on 22-23 May 2024 in Lagonisi. A total of over 500 officials, experts and executives will take part in large groups such as E.ON, Uniper, Fortrum, MVM, EDP, Siemens and EPRI. On behalf of the political world, the Head of the Energy Directorate of the Commission, Paula Pinio, DG of the European Energy Regulators Council (CEER), Mara Berzina and MEPs will be present. From Eurelectric itself, Vice President George Stassis (President and CEO of PPC) and Secretary General Christian Ruby will contribute to the dialogue with their positions. With regard to the subject matter of the conference, it is stressed by Eurelectric that Europe should no longer take for granted that lights will remain as easily open as before. The energy crisis in previous years has shown that much more emphasis needs to be given from now on to ensure energy efficiency and the simultaneous transition to cleaner sources. As our society reduces its emissions, electricity spreads to more and more sectors of the economy, such as cars, heating and industry. More and more electricity will be needed during the years, but at the same time the industry needs the appropriate tools to provide it. On the occasion of this, the first day of the conference will analyse developments in Europe’s electricity networks and related investments. In special interview Press, the president of Eurelectric (and CEO of E.ON), Leonard Birnbaum along with Vice President George Stassi, will give the mark on where the market is today and how the goal of net zero will be supported.
