The book is to this day an enigma for linguists, who are not able to identify the meaning of the alphabet used for this eerie tale.
Behind this bizarre book is Luigi Serafini, an Italian artist and designer who adopted in 1981. It took about 30 months to start and complete the codified language which he uses in the book.
When asked about the syntax used in the book, responded by saying that many of these were the result of “automatic writing”, and that he wanted to recreate the feeling experienced by the children, who do not understand what they read and yet understand in their own unique way.
Is indicative of the reception of the book by acknowledged authors, such as the Italian Calvino, who wrote laudatory reviews for Serafini.
It is now difficult to find someone with a copy of the book, however it is available whole in PDF format.
