Sugarova for 25 March: Instead of wishes, history lessons in Athens

Attack on government Mitsotakis was launched by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in her message for . Maria Zaharova refers to the role Russia played in the Greek Revolution and accuses the Mitsotakis government of sending weapons to Ukraine with which Greeks of Azoviki are exterminated. In detail Maria Zaharova’s statement: Among the leaders of the highest level of the Greek State at the dawn of its establishment there were many of those who previously served our country loyally, loyally and honestly. By reason of the truth it must be noted that during the long history course these elements were not disputed in Athens. There they recognized the decisive contribution of Russian weapons and diplomacy to the victory of the Greek Revolution of 1821, respected the memory of the Russian philhellenes, cared for the common pages of the glorious past of the two countries. It is a shame, but today the situation has undergone very whimsical changes that do not even have an explanation because on their unstable basis there is a – doubtful logic – political expediency. This development is only an element of the unlimited hostile campaign, which, citing the current international news, has been initiated and continued by the government, Mr.Michotakis, with the aim of eradicating from collective memory anything related to Russia, sacrificing for the sake of temporary circumstances – the eternal historical, cultural and spiritual ties between our two peoples. On the wave of aggressive Russophobia Athens insists on its criminal decisions, including the weapons mission in Ukraine, with which the Kiev regime continues to exterminate civilians, including Greeks of Azofic. The current rulers, hiding behind collective decisions of the West, interrupted our bilateral dialogue and all kinds of cooperation. As if this were not enough, the Greek Embassy in Moscow, among other diplomatic missions of the EU Member States, ignored the rules of diplomatic communication and ignored the invitation to meet with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry. For our part, on 25 March we forwarded our thoughts and assessments directly to the Embassy of Greece. It is pathetic that instead of sending wishes for the national holiday, as it once was, we are forced, this day, to remind Athens of the basic lessons of history.
