Starting today, applications for the Social Income Solidarity. What you NEED to know?

Starts today Thursday 14 July for the submission of applications by citizens,,,
or families who are below the poverty line in the 30 municipalities involved in the Social Income Solidarity (CRL). As announced by the ministry of Labour, citizens may submit an application in accordance with the JMD and up to 30th November 2016.
Applicants may apply in person at the JEP or to the Social Welfare Services of the Municipalities. Alternatively, they can apply for the program using the online application that is available the website of the CRL (www.keaprogram.gr).
The income support (allowance), which can reach 400 euros for a family of four shall be paid monthly into a bank account of the beneficiary within the last 5 days of each month. The right to payment of the income support is valid from the 1st day of the next from that in which the application was submitted and until 31 December 2016.
For example, for those citizens to submit a request on 18 July, the right to income support will start from August and you will receive 5 payments (August – December), while for those applying in October, the right will start from November and will receive 2 payments (November – December). In any case, the program will begin to apply to the whole of Greece from the beginning of 2017.

The Municipalities selected will be tested all the necessary adjustments and evaluations, in order to become the nationwide implementation of the CRL from the 1 January 2017.
The rest of the 295 Municipalities that are not included in the first phase of the implementation of the Social Income Solidarity will continue to apply to the programme to Combat the Humanitarian Crisis with all of the benefits until 31 December 2016.
According to the JMD:
-The program can be combines: 1. Income support: the amount of cash aid the recipient unit, as defined in article 2 of this. 2. Additional social services, amenities and goods: interconnection of the members of the recipient unit, as appropriate and in accordance with their needs, with additional social services, amenities and goods. Examples include: – Free health care uninsured. – Provision of school meals. – Referral and integration of structures and services for social care and support. – Inclusion in the programmes of the Social Structures of Poverty. – Integration programmes implemented under the Fund for European Aid to the most Deprived. – Social tariff of electricity providers. – Social tariff providers of water supply. – Social tariff of Municipalities and Municipal Enterprises. 3. Activation services: promotion of beneficiaries, if able to work, to actions aimed at integration or reintegration in the labour market and may include, among other things: – The coverage of a proposed job. – Participation in community work programmes. – Participation in vocational training programmes. – Participation in projects for the acquisition of professional experience. – The integration or the return to the educational system and second-chance schools.
