So far 3,400 businesses and farmers have received 50% of state aid advance

Compensation to affected companies since September (2023) in collaboration with the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece continues intensively. State aid concerns both agricultural holdings and livestock units for their damage to their equipment, their fixed assets, land capital and other relevant floods in accordance with the Ministry of Crisis and Civil Protection announcement. The framework includes (a) the granting of the first aid, (b) the provision of the 50% advance on State aid (incorporating the first aid granted), and (c) the granting of the final grant of State aid (incorporating the advance granted), up to 70% of the estimated damage with a maximum of EUR 500,000. Thus, following the granting of the first aid to enterprises, farms and livestock farms affected by the unprecedented flooding, the provision of 50% of the State aid grant has begun since December 2023. It is worth noting that the first aid to businesses, farms and livestock farms continues within the second cycle of first aid and has reached a total of EUR 57.3 million so far. Specifically, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 and yesterday, Wednesday, March 13th, 4,660,881 euros were paid, as a 50% advance on the grant of State aid, to 321 businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units. At the same time, in 986 cases of business, agricultural holdings and livestock units, the first aid totalling EUR 2,726,000, which had been granted was offset by the amount of the 50% advance of the State aid grant. Therefore, the phase of granting the 50% advance of state aid to enterprises, farms and livestock farms has been completed for 3,403 beneficiaries with the total amount of the grant reaching EUR 33,100,297. The General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters and State Aid, in a context of close cooperation with the committees and the state aid steps of the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece, continues the implementation of the framework of state aid, both through first aid payments and payments of the 50% advance of the final grant depending on the flow of data from the Regions.
