Shock in the USA: a little Girl of a year was killed by a bullet in her crib

The police of Los Angeles have launched a manhunt today in order to locate and arrest the killers of a girl aged one year, which… was killed by a bullet to the head, while she was in her crib in Compton, a village near Los Angeles.
The police believe that the little girl wasn’t the target of the perpetrators, and suspects that there was a settling of accounts between gangs, which resulted in exchange of fire, a common phenomenon in the southern part of California.
Although the violence between the gangs, which have taken form of an epidemic, no longer cause so great sensation in the public opinion, this incident was as a result of newspapers and magazines across the country, including the Washington Post and Time, to accommodate the pages of the articles where they expressed their concern about the fact that children are the collateral damage of this violence.
The authorities are looking for two suspects after witnesses described an attack committed by two men, who were riding in a dark-colored vehicle and one of them opened fire.
According to police, the girl was fatally wounded by a bullet in the head while he was lying on the cot in the garage of a residence.
An eyewitness told the Los Angeles Times that he heard a lot of gunshots and immediately after a woman yelling:
“They shot my baby!”.
Police officers carried the child to the hospital, where it was found his death.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Compton is committed 475 violent crimes for the last 6 months, including 8 of homicide.
