Russia: Putin Again President With Nearly 88% According to First Election Results

Not that we didn’t expect it, but he seems to be winning the election in a crushing percentage. According to the first results, Putin raised nearly 88% (87.97%) of the vote in the election, and thus renewed his term in the presidency of Russia. Putin’s great victory is no surprise apparently as all everyone expected to see was what heights the percentage would reach. It is recalled that at least 74 people have been arrested for various protest actions during the presidential elections, NGOs say. According to OVD-Info, an organization that monitors repression, arrests were made mainly in Kazan, central Russia, and Moscow, in the capital. It specifies that this number can be revised upwards, to the extent that new names will reach it.
