Rula Pispirigu: The time has come to decide the death of 9-year-old Georgina

The time of the first crisis for her has come. The 35-year-old accused of manslaughter by intention of her 9-year-old daughter, Georgina, on 29 January 2022, will listen today to the verdict of the three regulars and the four lay judges of the Athens Mixed Orcot Court. Despite the firm denial of the charge from the first moment of her arrest, in March 2022, Rula Pispiringu was brought to trial not only on the charge of her daughter’s homicide, but also on the offence of attempted murder of little Georgina, on 11 April 2021 at Karamandane hospital resulting in her hypox ischemic encephalopathy. According to the charge, Georgina’s death came from drug poisoning and specifically ketamine which was found in the postmortem blood of the 9-year-old Georgina. She’s being accused of being granted by her mother. The doctors and nurses who testified in court categorically refused to administer ketamine to the little girl during the recovery stage, while during the critical period that Georgina was reportedly in the chamber with her mother. The defendant at the time of the arrest denies the murder charge. For her part, the bench prosecutor, Evangelia Spiridonidou, has requested that Rula Pispirigo be found guilty, as charged. The prosecutor said by addressing judges and jurors that Roula Pispiringu attempted to remove and eventually cut the thread of her child’s life for an incentive “which the human mind can’t fit” and is her ex-husband, Manos Daskalakis. “We have the presence of the accused alone in the room. It cannot be accepted that ketamine was given during cardiopulmonary rejuvenation. Who could have injected ketamine? Says the defendant didn’t know ketamine. Here google refutes it. The safest conclusion is the hand that gave ketamine to Georgina is the defendant’s,” the prosecutor said, asking judges and jury to convict her. At the same time, the second trial has already begun with Rula Pispirigo accused of the deaths of her two other children, Malena and Iris.
