Rosa Vrettou, Kostas Chrysgonos, Elias Kikilias and Panayiotis Dimopoulos at PASOK Eurovote

In his – Change Movement will participate the cardiologist Rosa Bretou, economist Elias Kikilias, Professor of the University of Patras Panayiotis Dimopoulos and constitutionalist Kostas Chrysogenos. The candidates included in the PASOK Eurovote met with the party’s President, Nikos Androulakis, in his office in Parliament. Mr. Androuliakis in his statements among others pointed out: “PASOK’s Eurovote is strengthened by people with prestige and opinion. Everyone has offered a lot on their separate scientific route. I am sure that much can be achieved for the benefit of our people in the European Parliament.” The biographies of the candidate Member States of the Agathe Rosa Brittou Agathi-Rosa Brittou is a doctor – cardiologist, Deputy Secretary of the Health Department of PASOK. He serves as an ASY Curator, in the Second University Cardiac Clinic of the PGI “Attikon”. He studied at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a Doctor of Medicine of the same School. He has specialized in Echocardiography and Magnetic Heart Tomography at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, with a scholarship from the Greek Cardiological Society. He’s an editorial Board Member at BMC Cardiovascular Disorders. He was President of the Association for Cardiology of the Hellenic College in 2016-2018 and an elected member of the Scientific Council of the PGI “Attikon” (2017-2018). In the field of health economics , he studied at the two-year Master Executive Program of London School of Economics ( 2019–2021) in the corresponding subject , receiving the Master’s title in December 2021. For this programme he received a scholarship from the European Cardiological Society after a European selection. Agathi – Rosa Bretou was elected secretary of the student organization of N. PASOK in 1992, while from the same year until 2001 she was an elected member of the Central Council of PASOK Youth. He was elected additional secretary of the PASOK Department of International Relations in 2000 and Vice-President of Yes from 2001-2003 (Young European Socialists – then ECOSY European Community Organization of Socialist Youth ). He was a PASOK Member of State in 2007 and a member of the Committee on Cultural Affairs. She comes from Lefkada, where she grew up and is the mother of a child. Elias Kikilias Ilias Kikilias, with a master’s degree in economic sciences, holds the position of Director of Research at the National Centre for Social Research and, at the same time, performs the duties of Director General at the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises. She is also Secretary of the PASOK Development and Investment Sector-Movement of Change. From December 2009 to April 2013 he served as the OAED Commander and previously served as Director General of the National Institute of Labour. He has served as Vice-President and member of the Board of Directors of the National Centre for Social Research, a member of the Board of Directors of CEDEFOP of the European Commission and is a member of the Economic and Social Committee. It has participated in a significant number of high-level committees at European and national level, including the Employment Committee, the Social Protection Committee and the Economic Policy Committee of the Council of the European Union, the High Level Group on Social Dimension and Employment in the Information Society, the Committee on Analysis, Research and Cooperation on Employment and the Labour Market, the Advisory Committee on the European Commission’s Vocational Training and groups of independent experts with a view to preparing reports on the European Parliament and the European Commission on the impact of European integration procedures. He has taught at universities abroad and abroad, has worked with the Panteion University and the University of Cambridge of the United Kingdom, has coordinated a large number of research projects at national and international level and has an important work of scientific publications, books, articles and research exhibitions as well as extensive articles and interviews in literature and electronic media. Panayiotis Dimopoulos Panayiotis Dimopoulos was born in 1964 in Athens, with origins from the village of Servos Gortynia and Petralona Zacharos-Figalia. He is a biologist and currently Professor of Botanical and Ecology, at the Department of Biology, University of Patras. He is one of the most recognizable environmental scientists in Greece and Europe with more than 8300 references (h-index 44), with more than 160 scientific publications in international journals and more than 230 entries in national and international conferences. He has authored 21 books and teaching textbooks on the protection and management of the natural environment and was edited by publishing and rendering in Greek 5 foreign-language books or book chapters for students. In his current career he has coordinated more than 20 European and 40 National research projects and programmes. It has gained significant academic distinctions and participations in fora and EU working groups on the formulation of strategies and applied policies for biodiversity, the environment and sustainable development. He had the Coordination and scientific curated of the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity in Greece (2013 – 2014). He has been involved in politics since his student years (PAMP 1979-1982) until today. He served the Democratic Party from the positions of the PASP member (Panhellenic Racing Student Party), the member of the Patras City Office (1982–1987), the PASOK member (1987–2023). He has served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Labour (1996–2000) and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change (2013–2015). He has been (2012-2013), as he has been today, Secretary of the Department of Environment of PASOK-Movement of Change. He has served as Vice-Rector of Research and Development of the University of Patras (2020 – 2023), Chairman of the University Research and Innovation Centre of Patras (2020 – 2023), Chairman of the Department of Management of Natural Environment and Natural Resources of the University of Ioannina and Patras (2005–2006, 2008–2012, 2014–202016) and Chairman of the Northern Pindos National Park Management Agency (2004–2005). Today, he is Chairman of the National Committee of Protected Natura 2000 Areas and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Organization for Natural Environment and Climate Change (O.F.P.C.A.). He is married and has two daughters, Eugenia and Maria Anna. Kostas Chrysogenos Born 1961 in Serres and grew up in Thessaloniki. He obtained the University of Hannover Law degree in 1983 and in 1987 he was awarded a doctorate. In 2003 he was unanimously elected professor at the Faculty of Law of the unsub. I, subject to constitutional law. He has also taught at the National School of Judges, the Hellenic Open University and as a visiting professor at the University of Regensburg and Hanover. He is author of about twenty books and over a hundred scientific studies in Greek, English, and German. He also often writes in the daily press and practices active law. He was first held in the 2014 European elections and was elected a MEP with the ballot of SYRIZA. In March 2015 he warned by letter Alexis Tsipras about the disastrous effects of Varoufakis policy, while in July of the same year, immediately after the referendum was announced, he came to an open break with Syriza’s leadership and then left him, remaining independent. He developed a great deal of activity until 2019 in the European Parliament with hundreds of speeches, questions, suggestions etc. in favour of our national positions and interests. He joined PASOK. immediately after the election of Nikos Androulakis in his leadership in early 2022 and was elected a member of the Central Committee and the Political Council. In the 2023 national election he was nominated on the Territory ballot in honorary (non-election) fifth place.
