Request to prosecute Nico Tosca for false testimony in the trial of the killing fire in Matty

To forward the minutes of the trial in accordance with Article 39 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on the case of the murderous fire in the Athens District Attorney’s Office and prosecute the former minister, for the offence of false testimony he requested at today’s (26/3/24) meeting of the Sixth Chamber of Appeal of Athens, the advocate for support of the charge, Panayiotis Balaktaris, representing the poly-burn, Ioanna Gatopoulou. Mr. Balaktaris requested the transmission of the minutes to the District Attorney’s Office, pointing out that former Minister Nikos Toskas was lied on two points during his testimony before the Court for the Eye. First, according to what the advocate for support of the charge developed in court, Mr. Toskas denied that he was giving orders at the operational level while former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in an interview with the defendants said otherwise. Secondly, Mr. Balaktaris pointed out that Mr. Toskas testified that he did not know about the diversion of the FLOGA helicopter 1 from Dau Pentelis towards MOTOR OIL, while the rest of the statements and apologies showed that he knew it. At this time, the trial for the killing fire in Matty is at the counsel’s hearing stage. It is recalled that the prosecutor of the seat in his speech requested that nine of the total 21 defendants be found guilty in the case.
