Putin: Ukraine with civilian attacks wants to disrupt Russian elections

In order to disrupt the conduct of the Russian presidential elections, the Russian president accused the Russian president today Friday (15/3/2024), on the occasion of the attacks on civilian targets in Russia and for an effort, as he said, to penetrate Ukrainian forces into Russian territory, without success. “Ukraine attempts to commit criminal acts on the first day of the presidential election,” Putin said. It is noted that the elections will last until Sunday and will be held in Russia-occupied territories of Ukraine. Putin sued that these attacks would not go unpunished and threatened with retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory. The Russian defence ministry reported this morning that its forces prevented yesterday Ukrainian attempt to cross-border attack on the Russian region of Belgorod. Earlier today Friday, according to Moscow-appointed officials, two polling stations were bombarded by Ukrainian forces in part of the Ukrainian province of Hersona controlled by Russia. According to the committee, an unspecified number of people were injured and buildings were damaged. It is recalled that Ukraine, the European Union and NATO have denounced as “illegal” the conduct of these elections in territories occupied by Russia in Ukraine and the results of the elections there void.
