Prosecutors 10 countries of Latin America investigate corruption scandal

the scandal of corruption and bribes that were made to assignments public procurement in different countries from the construction colossus Οντεμπρέχτ, as announced by attorney general of Brazil.
Vladimir priest taking, head of international cooperation at the office of the Attorney General, said that the aim of establishment of the group is the acceleration of the direct exchange of information and the avoidance of bureaucratic obstacles.
In the context of extra-judicial settlement with the Brazilian authorities, the U.S. and Switzerland in December, the Οντεμπρέχτ —the largest construction company in Latin America— has admitted that he bribed with millions of dollars state officials in 12 countries, mainly in Latin American countries, for the conclusion of contracts. Agreed with a subsidiary of petrochemical company Braskem to pay a fine–record, amounting to 3.5 billion dollars.
The priest taking stressed that the prosecutors will be able to submit questions to witnesses and defendants in other countries and the validity of the evidence will apply in all countries.
“The evidence will be exchanged rapidly, as there are no intermediate bodies and faces,” explained Reuters.
The agreement establishing the group was signed Thursday by senior prosecutors from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama, and from a european country, Portugal.
The construction giant has admitted that it paid bribes 439 million dollars outside Brazil, with the largest of them were in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Panama.
Panama entered the crosshairs of the brazilian prosecutor’s office last year, as it has demonstrated cooperation in the investigations, but the priest taking stressed that the situation has changed. “The cooperation from last year is satisfactory and we have no problem”, he noted.
The Argentine government has asked the brazilian authorities to provide a list of names of Argentine nationals where the Οντεμπρέχτ has admitted that he bribed as well as those who are involved in the circuit of corruption in the public oil company Petrobras, which is considered the biggest scandal in the history of Brazil.
A federal judge in Argentina who is looking for information from Brazil and Switzerland to determine whether the head of the secret service of the president Maurizio Makri, Gustavo Αρίμπας, accepted a bribe amounting to 600,000 dollars from the Οντεμπρέχτ 2013, when he was a citizen.
The priest taking added that the Venezuelan authorities have started to cooperate with the law enforcement authorities for cases of bribes amounting to 98 million dollars that the construction giant has admitted that it granted to government officials and intermediaries in the country for the award of public contracts.
On Thursday the Venezuelan authorities raided the offices of the Οντεμπρέχτ in Caracas and are looking for you from last month a person.
At the same time the judicial authorities of Peru on Friday issued international arrest warrants against eight persons, allegedly involved in corruption cases with a total of amounts calculated in the $ 60 million, which officials of the previous government of the country, and business executives allegedly received from the Οντεμπρέχτ.
Among the eight people, is the former president of Peru Alejandro Toledo, who is accused that received 20 million dollars from the brazilian company. The Toledo denies the charges.
