In the context of the interventions on Health Education organized by the department D of secondary education of Ioannina through the Responsible of School Activities of mr George Raptis, was completed and during the course of this school year 2015-16, with great success, the mentoring Programme in schools that was implemented in cooperation with the Center for the Prevention of addictions and Promotion of Psychosocial Health “Schedia“.
The program had as its objective the promotion of primary prevention, addressing the psychosocial difficulties of students, as well as psychological support to them.
The advisory gave the students the opportunity to process issues that they employed, by developing the necessary psychological (self-esteem, stress management etc.) and social skills (conflict resolution, recognition and expression of emotions, collaboration, creating and maintaining relationships, boundaries etc.), which among other things facilitate the process of socialization, of resilience, of learning, but also management of difficulties, before they consolidate and create bigger problems in their everyday life.
Throughout the course of this school year (2015-16) were held in fixed space and time, and with constant face – to-face counseling, on-site school, 862 individual sessions – sessions that were 317 students in the following schools:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th General Lyceum of Ioannina, high School of Epirus, School Plain, middle School & high School ΧÏυσοβίτσας, Music School Ioannina, as well as the 1st, 3rd, 6th vocational School & in the 1st Laboratory Center of Ioannina.
On behalf of division D of secondary education of Ioannina, we would like to thank the whole of the Scientific Group of the Prevention Centre “Raft“, mr vassilios Koutras, Professor of Health Education, University of ioannina, Ioannina, greece and Scientific coordinator of the Prevention Centre, and the president of the Board of directors of the “Raft“, mr. Stefanos Τζιμογιάννη, for the continuous support of the school community of the regional unit of Ioannina.
We hope that the Centre for the Prevention of “Raft“ to continue the cooperation with the D/secondary education of Ioannina and the new school year for the implementation of all of the Free interventions – Health Education programs in schools D secondary education of Ioannina, which implements since 1994, after approval by the Ministry of Education, Research and church affairs, through the Responsible of School Activities because:
“prevention is about all of us.”
