The meeting which was convened by the Group of Producers of Amaliada, on the occasion of the forthcoming mid-term review of the connected products, as well as the basic request is to join from 1/1/2017, which will enter into force, the revision and the product of the Currants.
The meeting was attended by the members of the prefecture of Ilia, mrs. Effie Georgopoulou – ΣαλτάÏη, mr. Dimitris Μπαξεβανάκης, Costas Tzavaras, and mr Yannis Koutsoukos, the vice governor of rural affairs mr Panagiotis ΜπÏάμος, the president of the Municipal Council. mr Andreas Nikolakopoulos, vice mayor mr. The basic requests

Coordinated actions
Mrs. Georgopoulou asked for further clarifications with regard to the problems and the actions that have been made so far, pointing out the necessity of coordinated and targeted actions to the Ministry and mr. Μπαξεβανάκης stressed that what is required is a careful approach to the issues, especially in terms of ΚοÏιθιακή currant, in order to not get out of logged-on status of some other agricultural product and create other problems.

The given support of the Region of Western Greece was carrying mr. ΜπÏάμος, who reported on the actions that he has done up until now, the Region, while has highlighted to mps and the issue that has arisen with the non-smooth function of ΤΟΕΒ and ΓΟΕΒ and asked for there to be concerted action.
Both mr Nikolakopoulos and mr. Panagiotopoulos, they carried the support of the municipality of Elis in the rural world and mr Nikolakopoulos made it clear that the municipality will be on the side of the Group in any decision.
The decision taken is to coordinate actions and all together, in agreement and with the ΣΚΟΣ but also with the representatives of Achaia, to seek an immediate meeting with the Minister of Rural Development, in order to put urgent in the first phase, the issues of the Currants and of the industrial tomato.
