“Today, many are those forces that are trying to break the spiritual ties of Russia with the Ukraine, and turning to the Ecumenical Patriarch with the requirement of the separation of Ukrainian Church from Moscow,” said the Patriarch of Moscow, speaking of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in the Kremlin.
Also the Patriarch of Moscow stressed that all of these have ultimate purpose to separate the Orthodox Church of Ukraine from the Russian Church, and there is a new schism.
“They will not be able to break the unity of the Holy Russia” stressed the Patriarch Kirill.
Mentioning that the President of Ukraine mr. Petro Poroshenko has spoken out repeatedly in favour of the creation of a single local Church in the country, adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament.
