Panathinaikos: Letter from 681 members of the Amateur to Malakate for Botanical

Members of the Amateur , with an open letter to the president of the Amateur Panayiotis Malakate, are asking for an extraordinary press conference to be held in order to make a detailed briefing on the . Specifically 681 members of the Amateur to Panayiotis Malakate ask for a meeting to be held as soon as possible in order to provide detailed information regarding Botanical and the work of double regeneration. It is also stressed in the communication that some key projects have already been delayed. In detail the letter “Open Letter of MEMBERS OF PANATHINAIkou A.O. Mr President, On 30 March, two years after the home vote was held. As we all remember, this vote took place with the feeling of ’emergency’ and in a climate of ‘mindial suffocation’ that voting for contracts is a one-way street to ensure the future course of the Association. The result of the ballot was what your administration sought in many ways… Now, two years later, the following grim state has been formed (refer exclusively to installations intended for use by A.O. sections): 1. Since 31 March 2022 no basic, elementary construction work has been done. The weather flows, without the slightest official information on the part of your administration to the members of the A.O., and more widely to the Panathinaikos world, about any developments or processes. The complete absence of official information “brings” an orgy of rumours, sound or unfounded information, spreads and speculations. Nobody, except for a very small circle of people, really knows where we are and what is to be born. 2. At the same time we are watching the beginning (because we are sure that we are still at the beginning…) of an incredible tug of public debate on the issue between the current and former mayor of Athens. Our position is clear, Mr. Asshole: We’re not interested in any current and former mayor’s political games. We are not interested in the pursuits of any political party. We are not interested in the economic-business interests gathered in the Botanical, playing an unprecedented game of speculation on the back of the Association under the full tolerance of your administration. As members of Panathinaikos A.O., we are interested in: – that you tried to deliver without exchange to the municipality of Athens the unique and immense asset of our Association to the most central point of Athens. The Avenue Field. – That you didn’t try to put any insurance restrictions on the contracts you signed. – And that the result of your administration’s, so far, handlings is summed up in the phrase: “You have made a hole in the water”, which means that the Association is once again a meteor. 3. Mr. Vasilios Pavlopoulos, who handled the issue of Double Redevelopment on his own, demonstrated a “superactivity” in the media in January; March 2022. During this time he declared how “interesting and amazing” for the A.O. were the conventions that came to pass. Around the middle of the spring of 2022 until today, we note that Mr Pavlopoulos has changed rapidly and has maintained a silent attitude to complete extinction, which has caused a very bad impression since the works have been stuck while he assured us that the Association is absolutely assured. 4. On the issue of financing the facilities, things are perfectly clear, Mr. Malacate. The contracts explicitly provide that GDP (banks) will be the only source of funding for the construction of the facilities. Mr. Malakate, the banks involved are not doing Panathinaikos A.O. The banks involved have already gained huge profits from Double Redevelopment and if the overall project is implemented, they will make even more. If any (which we do not wish…) you move behind the scenes with the aim of finding funds for the facilities by any other – public or private – body, then you must inform the members. 5. As to the implementation schedule there was just a few months ago an unprecedented event. You personally, along with the main vice president of the A.O., participated on 6 June 2023 in a press parody conference at the city hall of Athens at the time mayor of Athens. In this press conference, we saw you announce that the facilities for the A.O. departments. They’ll be ready in 2026. In this regard the bilateral convention of the municipality of Athens- Panathinaikos A.O. is perfectly clear (Article 10/timeframe implementation) and is not in dispute. The municipality of Athens should hand over to A.O. complete the sports facilities for use on 31 December 2024. You should know, Mr. Malakaté, that contracts are binding on all parties and are not modified with air words in press conferences. Therefore, if there is a single day delay from that date, there should be an amendment to the Convention. This amendment should be made in writing and with a specific, transparent procedure and in any case with the agreement of the Group’s General Assembly. Not underground, not secretly. Summarizing… Mr President, time has run out. You have had two years since the vote, so that you will be completely undisturbed to implement your commitments and your “vision” for home. “Vision” manner of saying of course… We ask you, not as a request but as an obvious obligation to the members of the Association, to organize without delay: an open, interactive and live discussion at the “Indus Tomb” on the sole theme of the home. Which has live internet transmission, so that any interested Panathinaikos fan, located inside or outside Attica, can watch it. In such a discussion, it is necessary for the current mayor of Athens to attend, as the municipality is implementing the Double Redevelopment. And also, they will have to attend to provide answers to key issues concerning their handling, Mr. Basil Pavlopoulos and Mr.Chronis Akritis. No excuses and no pretexts. With respect to your office, but also in the hope that you will be able to show dignity and due seriousness, The letter has been signed by 681 members of the Panathinaikos Sports Club”.
