Optima bank initiative for the national effort to address hyponatality

In an initiative with an essential and symbolic character, the , with a high sense of responsibility for the important problem of subnatality in our country, as well as its practical support, goes forward. Specifically, from 1 January 2024, for each family acquired by a new member, Optima bank’s employee will receive an amount of EUR 1,000/month for a period of 12 months. With all relevant studies presenting, in the best case scenario, our country’s population continuously declining by 2050, with an increase in the average age and a decrease in our economically active population, the bank could not be left out against a major national challenge and a major issue that directly concerns the future and prospects of our country. This move by Optima bank is a recognition of the difficulties faced by new families and an initiative of responsibility towards a common multi-factorial national social problem. The President of Optima bank, George Taniskidis, noted: “With this initiative of our bank, we primarily recognise and take action on one of our country’s most critical problems, underbirth. A problem that needs immediate response at many levels through a wider planning of actions. At the same time, it applies directly to our workers’ families, reflecting our constant and timeless commitment to their support. In Optima bank, we believe that demography is by far the most serious risk to our country and we must all be sensitive in this direction.”
