Nikos Vertis: The Supreme Court sends him to the stand after his former accountant’s lawsuit

A new episode in his court dispute with his friend and former accountant Nikos Polatidis. With the specific decision of the Supreme Court that brings to the public newsit.gr, the trial is resumed at the Court of Appeal, after the lawsuit filed by the former accountant against the well-known singer Nikos Vertis and concerns debts that the company managed by Nikos Vertis, but appeared in the name of Nikos Polatidis. The trial was determined for April 26 and the reasoning of the Supreme Court ruling, favours the former accountant’s side. Arios Pagos by decision accepted the appeal made by former financial director and right hand of popular artist Nikos Polatidis who was found to owe to the Greek public 231.574 euros as a company manager who organized concerts by Nikos Vertis in 2013 and 2014. According to the Areopagite judges Polatides along with another person were the so-called “brostinians” at the same time that the actual owner of the event was the popular artist. The reasoning of the Supreme Court’s decision The Supreme Court’s fragment that marks the new developments in the two sides’ dispute reads: ‘The foregoing in the action fulfil the conditions for the application of the abovementioned provisions of substantive law, since they establish the unlawful conduct of the appellant (p. Nikos Vertis), the fault of this, the positive damage of the appellant (Nikos Polatidis), the existence of causal link between the faulty behaviour of the anarchist and the damage caused to the appellant. Consequently, the Court of Appeal, which, by the contested decision, accepted the appellant’s appeal, eliminated the decision of the first-degree court which had partially accepted the action in substance and rejected the action as unlawful, breached by incorrect interpretation and application of the substantive provisions cited above and therefore the above grounds of the appeal must be accepted.’
