New homophobic attack in Thessaloniki: Criminal prosecution for insulting and threatening the 32-year-old

The prosecutor referred the 32-year-old accused of homophobic assault, to be tried in the audience of the Autophorus One-member Court of Justice of Thessaloniki, while at the same time ordering a preliminary examination, which turns against the victim, for a video taken from the incident at issue. Just two 24 hours after the homophobic episode that the 21-year-old victim received at Aristotle Square, which led to the arrest of 21 people, the same person reported that he was still attacked by two people, this time on the paved road of the new beach. After addressing the Police, filing a lawsuit, an investigation followed, resulting in the identification and arrest of the 32-year-old, while the second reported person remains unknown. As has become known, the 32-year-old has been reportedly convicted in the past for a fan episode in a volleyball match and he was imposed on restrictive conditions, which he is considered to have violated. His identification was made on the basis of a video taken and produced the 21-year-old victim, as shown by the call he submitted. For this reason, the prosecutor ordered a criminal investigation to determine whether it committed the offence of violating personal data.
