MG central theme at the Central Feature at the Goodwood 2024 Speed Festival

MG announced that it would be the main theme in the legendary Central Feature screening, at the Goodwood 2024 Speed Festival, celebrating in the best possible way, the hundred years since the first appearance of the iconic car industry! MG’s long-awaited electric roadster Cyberster, will be the central theme of Gerry Judah’s masterpiece that annually airs something different, with MG at the centre in front of Goodwood House for the first time. Cyberster expected next summer in the market, is a new generation of performance car marking an electric milestone in its historic course Its central place in the world’s most famous motorist event promises to be one of the most exciting moments in the celebrations of MG’s centenary in the UK and not only. The Duke of Richmond, founder of the Speed Festival, said: “After the world debut of impressive at the 2023 Speed Festival, we are happy to return them this year to Goodwood to celebrate their centenary style with their first Central Feature. This is the most fitting tribute in the first 100 years of one of Britain’s oldest and most popular manufacturers, who has a long-term relationship with Goodwood. They were almost always present in the sirqi from 1948-1966 and before that, I must tell you that my grandfather was running with the MG team in the 1930s, winning the famous Double-Twelve Hour Race in Brooklands in 1931. He was fascinated by their small weight, simplicity and intelligent engineering – features that still form pillars of the brand even today. MG’s 100-year history combined with innovation is completely aligned with this year’s theme “Horseless to Hybrid”, which recognises the developments in technology and power that have shaped motor sport in the last 130 years.” Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Manager of MG Motor UK, commented: “A hundred years ago, she pioneered the creation of the affordable sports car for the general public, turning dreams into reality for millions of worshipers around the world. We are still committed to this founding vision of creating, innovative and truly attractive cars for a large portion of buyers. It underlines this commitment, as it is a high performance electric model that its roof opens and for which we hope to have the same impact as its very beloved precursors. Festival of Speed 2024 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our legacy on the domestic market, where the history of MG began, while providing a perfect platform from which we can show the dynamic future of the brand on the global car scene.” To celebrate MG’s collaboration with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Cyberster was joined outside Goodwood House by one of its most famous predecessors, a 1964 beautiful Mk1 MGB Roadster with a 1.8-litre BMC engine. Her two roadsters from different times are to play a prominent role in the Festival of Speed. MG will also return to the famous ascent in 2024, while as time passes and the date of the event approaches, the company will announce other official first presentations for the Festival of Speed 2024 (FoS). More details will be announced prior to the event, which will take place at Goodwood Estate, South Sussex, South Coast, England, from 11–14 July 2024.
