Memorandum of Cooperation between the Region of Attica and the Enterprise Greece

The development strategy of Attica, is the object of the… Memorandum of Cooperation signed today by the Governor of the Attica region, Rena Δούρου, with the President of the Greek Company for Investment and Foreign Trade (A.E. (Enterprise Greece), Christos Staikos. The objective of the Memorandum of Cooperation is the coordination of Region and the Enterprise Greece for the promotion of the Attica as a business centre, taking into account the specific socio – economic characteristics.
In particular, the two parties announced three initiatives with a key aim the direct activation of this moc:
1) To assist the Enterprise Greece the Region of Attica in facilitating the diffusion of the idea of entrepreneurial discovery. In particular, provided for the activation of Enterprise Greece in the field of information, preparation and support of enterprises of each industry in the context of entrepreneurial discovery, in the implementation of Regional Strategy of Smart Specialisation with the aim of more effective use of resources investment priority 1b the Attica ROP 2014-2020.
2) Co-organizing outreach events of Attica’s Vineyard to journalists and opinion leaders from China, Japan, Korea and Switzerland.
3) The Organized presentation and display of Attica’s Vineyard to foreign diplomatic missions.
The Memorandum of Cooperation is aimed at stimulating the two main pillars of development in the Region, attracting investments and promoting exports in the perspective of creating new jobs.
More specifically, the purpose of this Memorandum is the creation of a framework for cooperation between the two institutions, so as to achieve:
(A) The projection of the Region in the global business market and the promotion as a business centre of the wider region of the Mediterranean and the presentation of the comparative advantages of selected industries.
(B) the strengthening of The internationalisation of regional smes, in the direction of the growth of their exports, and the creation of new jobs.
(C) The display of the products of Attica land, cultural heritage and tourism αξιοθέατών.
(D) The economic development of the Region of Attica through joint studies, research and implementation of programs that are a potential growth mechanism.
(E) ensuring a higher level of competitiveness and development and growth of innovative entrepreneurship in the Region of Attica.
(F) THE promotion of networking, mutual learning and the identification and dissemination of best practices in other Regions of the European Union.
When questioned about the Governor, he said: “With today’s signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation of the Region of Attica with the Greek Company for Investment and Foreign Trade (A.E. we are consolidating the cooperation between the two public bodies, with the aim of highlighting the Attica as an internationally recognised investment pole. In this manner, with deeds and not words, we are strengthening the small and medium-sized businesses towards promotion of exports for the creation of new jobs, thus contributing to the collective effort for the restart of the national economy.”
In a statement, the President of Enterprise Greece, mr. Christos Staikos says: “The Enterprise Greece, the competent national authority, responsible for attracting investment and promoting exports, upgrading the cooperation with the Region of Attica . The current Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of a coherent and integrated strategic view of business opportunities in the country through further networking with the regions, chambers of commerce, and all local bodies of extroversion. In this direction, implements the program Synergassia, whose purpose is the promotion of entrepreneurship of regions with multiple benefits for local economies.”
