Meeting Avgenakis – Spanou: Additional financing for farmers and fishermen in North Fthiotida and Northern Evia

The Minister of Rural Development and Food accepted in his office the presence of the GG of Infrastructure and Union Resources, Dimitris Papagiannidis, the Regional Governor of Stereas Greece, Fanny Spanos, with whom they discussed the issue of strengthening it through the ongoing programmes and the inclusion of runner-up candidates. Following the cooperation of Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, he announced the amendment of the budget of the Call for Action 4.1.5 (Improvement Plans). Fanis Spanos called for the inclusion of runner-up to the Improvement Plans and from areas of Fthiotida and Northern Evia, as well as the strengthening of fishermen in the area, according to the standards of aid for fishermen in Thessaly, and also called for the financing of the Domokos TEVs for the restoration of damage from the natural disasters Daniel and Elias. In particular, taking into account the catastrophic events during the natural disasters, by amending the call, the budget of the Region of Central Greece is increased as follows: By EUR 3,250,000 in order to cover all eligible applications submitted by candidates who have been resident in the municipalities of Eastia – Edipsou and Madoudi – Lake – St. Annas. The additional funding is 78 runner-up. By EUR 410,000 in order to cover all eligible applications submitted by candidates who have been resident in the Municipal Communities, Agios Konstantinos, Agnantis, Mendenitsas, Agios Charalambous and Anavra of the Municipality of Kameni Vourlons of the Regional Unit of Fthiotida. By EUR 2,085,000 in order to cover all eligible applications submitted by the candidates whose permanent residence is the Municipality of Domokos. Funding of the fishermen of the Municipalities of Stylida, Istiaia – Edipsos and Madoudi – Lake – St. Annas was also ensured, in order to cover the loss of income during the natural disasters. The fishermen of the three Municipalities will receive via de minimis 1,159,600 euros from the total of the second CYA concerning the support of fishermen in affected areas of EUR 1,662 000. Overall for the support of fishermen affected by Daniel in Thessaly and Northern Eviako, 3,151,000 euros have been given. Finally, funding for the two TEVs of the Domokos region was secured in order to restore damage caused by the natural disasters and to make the irrigation network operational again. Specifically, TEV 5th Thessaloniki Zone is expected to be financed, in principle, with 500,000 euros and TEB 6th Thessaloniki Zone is expected to be funded with 200,000 euros. Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis assured Regional Governor Fanis Spanos that “the government and the Hellenic Ministry of Agriculture will always be present and support the producers who have suffered damage. We did so with the inclusion of the Domokos farmers in measure 5.2 and the inclusion of the municipalities affected by the Improvement Plans. We are running out of potential and using every national or Union resource to support the farmers, farmers, fishermen and beekeepers affected. The government is present. No producer, no citizen is alone in trying to rebuild his life and restore his farms.” The Regional Head of Central Greece Fanis Spanos stressed: “One by one, all critical needs and related requests for the full re-establishment of areas of Central Greece, which have been hit by the latest flooding phenomena, are gradually and effectively met.
