Masterclasses from award-winning filmmakers to the island of Nisyros

european program for the development of scenarios, film plans, MFI Script 2 Film Workshops.
Having received applications from 88 projects and 142 writers, directors, and producers, selected from 29 countries, 50 filmmakers of 25 scenarios of feature films from all over the world. Goes on well and this year, for the fourth consecutive year, the successful institution of masterclasses. The award-winning filmmakers (Jiri Σκολιμόφσκι, Christian Μουντζίου, Penny Panayotopoulou) come to be added to highly skilled professionals and experts from the field of production. Martina Bleis (Co-productions Consultant / Berlinale Co-production Market) and Nicolò Gallio (PhD in Film Studies, Marketing and Audiences) are offering this year for the first time in Nisyros valuable experience. Through lectures, masterclass, case studies and individual meetings will equip participants with the tools, that will help them to realise their films.

The first round of workshops will be held in Nisyros and will follow meetings on the island of Samos in October.
The two masterclasses,
“International co-productions and markets festival” by Martina Bleis and”Connecting Stories: From scenarios to Viewers (2 case studies)” by Nicolò Gallio will be held at the Mandraki of Nisyros on 30/6 & 1/7, respectively, at 19:00, as a starting point for discussion and further strengthening of the key issues in the writing, development and pre-production.
Wanting, to strengthen the role of the domestic cinematic reality, MICK is constantly expanding its partnerships. In this context, it carries out a new strategic alliance with the Greek national Tourism Organization. The fruit of this cooperation is – among other things – the creation of a series of mini-interviews of the participants filmmakers who will turn on Nisyros and will be posted on the page of visitgreece.gr.
The MFI Script 2 Film Workshops 2016 includes: a first cycle of workshops which will be held in Nisyros (22/6-4/7), a period of on-line meetings in September, a second cycle in Pythagorion of Samos (9-16/10) and a final period of online meetings in December.
