Luca Vildosa before the Red Star – Panathinaikos: “Back at the end of the week”

He will be hosted in a few hours (20/03/24, 21:00, LIVE from Newsit.gr) by , for the 30th Euroleague race, with Luca Vildosa again being out of injury. But Vildosa himself spoke in the game and revealed that by the following week he is expected to have returned to Panathinaikos’ regular training program. Having been in the Red Star last year, however, he was invited to comment on the encounter of Serbs with the “greens” at Euroleague, on the club’s official website. Vildosa’s statements on the condition of his injury: “The knee is getting better and better. I think the first time I rushed back and it turned out that was not the right decision for my body. Now I’ve decided to make a full recovery, no matter how long it takes and so far everything’s going well. Unfortunately I cannot play in Belgrade, but I hope to join the team at the end of this week or next. I’m glad I’ll be completely ready for the next games.” About his feelings for tonight’s game: “It’s gonna be a little weird, because I didn’t travel with the team. I wanted to go see the fans who supported me last season again. Of course I will see the game and support my team, but love for the Red Star is always there.” For his Red Star march last year: “When I think about last season a lot goes through my mind, but the first thing is that I was given the chance to play after a very serious NBA injury. I had a serious problem in Milwaukee and the Red Star allowed me to go back to the Euroleague and show what a player I can be when I am perfectly healthy. From the first day I felt love and acceptance. I didn’t like the whole situation I experienced in the NBA, but I won the month’s MVP award in the Euroleague and I was one of the Red Star leaders. I’ll always be grateful for what he offered me. I felt at home in Belgrade from day one. My girlfriend is a friend of the Red Star and we see all the games together. I know I had up and down in the season, but people loved me and I will never forget it.” For the Red Star world: “The team had ups and downs and many injuries, but they were on our side in every game, in good and bad times. I started to feel the same way here, but to be honest, it’s not the same as in Serbia.” For his Serbian lessons: “I do learn the language. I learn to write, how to pronounce words correctly, but I have to say it’s a very difficult language. At some point I had stopped because of the difficulty, but I started over and with the help of my girlfriend it was easier. I hope I have learned by the time I return to Belgrade next year and can send a message to fans in Serbian. As I said, Belgrade and the Red Star have a separate place in my heart and I hope to feel that way again in the future.”
