“The society and the economy pay, for years, the price of the crisis”, emphasises in an interview to ana-MPA, the president of the United Drive European Left, F. Kouvelis, noting that “already the economy is moved by a relative stabilization at a stage of recovery at an accelerated pace”.
As he states, “the economy is recovering is one that creates employment, increases investment and improves the available income.
Of these factors depends on the speed and the rate of recovery of the economy”.
In relation to the debt, mr. Kouvelis stressed that “there remains the keeping of the agreement signed by the country without new extensions”.
Stresses that “the aim and main concern must be the widening of the tax base and a fairer distribution of the tax burden in a more progressive scale”, and that “addressing the deficiencies of the system it is possible to allow the increase of income and the concomitant reduction of citizens to specific classes bearing a disproportionate tax burden”.
Further, he sees favourably the invitation of prime minister Alexis Tsipras for cooperation of the forces of the wider Left.
As stated in “the effort to stand by Greece on its feet with the society upright, it is an effort that concerns us.
The Unitarian Movement of the European Left, to which I belong, wants to help with the locations, the views of and to the extent, at the exit of the country from the crisis and the progressive governance of the country.
We have to offer in the effort for change in Europe, and for the recovery of the country”.
Making reference to the competition for tv licenses , stresses that had to be done, “putting an end to a situation that is unacceptable has existed for about three decades”, and considers that the manipulations of the government operating within the constitutional framework.
Referring to the refugee, mr. Kouvelis noted that if Europe does not react in a uniform and organized, with solutions commonly accepted and tolerate unilateral actions, will deal with solvent effects, and centrifugal tendencies.
“Our country, society and the State, regardless of the problems, demonstrates a rare stop in front of the phenomenon of the explosion of migration flows.
In a time where a part of Europe return to the worst nationalist traditions of the old continent, and facing the refugee xenophobic, hurt by the crisis in Greece, places in the foreground the values of humanism and solidarity”, stressed, among other things.
