K. Καρπέτας: Strategic objective the strengthening of Tourism through development policies – The Region of Western Greece in the 15th Conference of SETE

At the 15th Conference of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) held in Athens with the theme… Tourism and Development” was also attended by the vice governor of Regional Development and Entrepreneurship Costas Καρπέτας.”The District has developed and implements a realistic plan to strengthen the tourism product of the region, with only goal the conversion of Western Greece in a distinct and competitive Tourist destination. The strong comparative advantages, which it offers, can contribute to the development of tourism, and the increase of traffic,” noted mr. Καρπέτας adding that “the design that has already been done and implement, can assist even more in enhancing the local economy and increase jobs”.The focus of the Conference was the new road map of the Greek Tourism, the benefits of interconnection of Tourism with other sectors of the Greek Economy, while discussed and the future challenges, as well as the lengthening of the tourist season. “The archaeological of our sites, the museums, the history, the religious heritage, our natural environment, our products, constitute a potential reserve for the development of the Region of Western Greece, the Tourism sector remains a stable pillar in particular in the last few years with the crisis, for the economic uplift” added the vice-governor.To recall that the Region of Western Greece working with SETE in terms of Tourism for the implementation of the actions under the Road Map, Specialization of Tourism for the EDP, which has been prepared by the Link.At the Conference, spoke among others, John Δραγασάκης, Vice-president of the Government who spoke about the plan for fair and sustainable development, George an effort to attract sponsors, Secretary-General Tourism and Policy Development, Andreas Andreadis, President of SETE, Yannis Stournaras, Governor of the Bank of Greece, Margaritis Σχοινάς, Head Representative of the European Commission etc.
