Juncker: “a stronger Europe means a stronger NATO….”

“I feel encouraged by today’s meeting and exchange of views, because it became clear that a stronger EU means a stronger NATO and a more powerful NATO means a stronger EU,” said mr Juncker.
At the same time, he explained to mr Stoltenberg the importance that the EU gives to the enterprises of the military alliance in the region of the Aegean, stressing that the European Council asks the members of the NATO to support them, something that has been made in the text of the Summit.
“It’s a decisive year for the EU and NATO because the security environment in and around Europe is changing drastically. So both have to adapt to this situation”, pointed out Jean-Claude Juncker.
The president of the european Commission presented to the c.c NATO the first elements of the Global Strategy for Defense and Foreign Policy which are processed jointly by the European Commission and the European External Action Service, highlighting that there is a close communication.
