January 12: Feast of the Holy Τατιανής

The memory of the Saint Τατιανής honors today, 12 January, our Church…
The Holy Martyr Τατιανή descended from Rome and lived during the reign of emperor Alexander Severus (222 – 235 m.X.). Her father had served as consul.
The Holy Τατιανή had the ecclesiastical rank of διακόνισσας and in hymnology is plotted as a student of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The solemnity of the origin and the religious zeal with which he performed the region of tasks, gave the Τατιανή proud position among Christians. And the National, however, had heard of this and could not accept the fact that a woman like καταφρονούσε worldly aspirations, and he despised the idols, to serve with so much self-denial, the Christians and preaching the Gospel of the Lord.
When, for Severus, was ordered persecution of Christians, the Τατιανή was arrested and because διεκήρυττε faith in Christ, the led in front of the king, and with him entered into a pagan temple. There, however, the Saint, with one fervent prayer in Christ, been shaken by the ξόανα (wooden statues) of the deities, of idolatry and tore down the floor. For this reason she was subjected to torture.
Beat her with iron claws tore away his eyelids. Then hung and shaved head. Then threw it on the fire, but nothing happened. Then thrown to hungry wild beasts, but these did not dare to hurt her. After all, the pagans cut the Honest head, and in this way the Saint entered with the crown of glory in the joy of the Lord.
