“It opens the “way” trade Thessaloniki – Belgrade – Budapest”

The road E10, Thessaloniki – Belgrade, completed in October 2017 and will reduce the time between the two cities 4.5 hours. The utilization of the port of Thessaloniki and the new railway line Belgrade – Budapest completes the “road” trade with a focus Thessaloniki.
Was completed successfully, the 1st Greek – Serbian forum, which was held in Thessaloniki, with the participation of 470 enterprises from both countries. The forum presented the business environment in Serbia (tax, insurance, labor issues, financing), major projects of privatisation, as the 60 works of the municipality of Belgrade, amounting to eur 10 billion. euros, which is to be implemented.
The aim of the chamber of commerce is to climb up from the low position to where it is today, the 22nd position, while taking advantage of the free trade agreements of Serbia with Russia, China and many more countries.
The president of the Hellenic – Serbian chamber of Greece, Kostas Georgakos, said that they have done collaborations between food companies, while a large Greek company in the sector of energy, is studying an investment of 10 million euros in Serbia. Currently operating in Serbia 200 – 210 enterprises of Greek interests which employ, directly and indirectly, about 25,000 workers, having invested in the country of 2.2 billion euro.
In his speech, mr. Michalos, president of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece, stressed that Serbia and Greece have to go having to present evidence that would create a sense of confidence to the Serbs. When the political instability in Greece is troubling Greek entrepreneurs, it is difficult to convince the foreigners.

“It’s the biggest meeting of businessmen of the two countries after 35 years, and today we saw that indicated participation of 450 – 500 entrepreneurs, representatives of major chambers of commerce and public and private enterprises from Greece and Serbia,” stressed the ambassador of Serbia in Greece. “The goal of the embassy and the goal of the state of Serbia is the business cooperation between Greece and Serbia to improve, as by 2015 is modest compared with the possibilities and the potential are there. In the last few years recorded a drop in bilateral business cooperation, for various reasons, and the 1st Greek – Serbian Business Forum is the first step, the laying of the foundation stone, a new power, a new page on ελληνοσερβικές relations in the economic and business field,” he said.
The Forum was graced with the presence of them, the Interior Minister Panagiotis Κουρουμπλής and the competent state Secretary for the Interior and Administrative Reconstruction (Macedonia and Thrace), Maria Kollia-Tsarouha, supporting the effort of the chamber at all levels.
