International Museum Day in Karditsa

The Archaeological Museum of Karditsa participate in the celebration…
the International Museum Day on 18/5/2016 with the organisation of a series of actions in the room of educational programmes, but also in the permanent report.
For the celebration of the International Museum Day 2016 the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has chosen the theme “Museums and cultural landscapes” on the grounds that Museums “must providing know-how, to expand their activities on the wider environment συνδιαμορφώνοντας the cultural landscape, to become dynamic centers of culture”
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Karditsa and the PRM will participate in the celebration by organizing educational programs and thematic tours of the permanent exhibition of the Museum.
Specifically, students of 8th and 10th primary school of Karditsa, will participate in the educational program entitled: “The hunting of the hidden treasure.” Through an interactive and entertaining game, the students will discover selected objects from the Museum, we’ll connect you with the local history and the cultural landscape of the region by developing critical thinking, observation and cooperation. At the same time the archaeologists – animators of the programme will guide the tour of the museum on matters relating to the main title of the celebration of the day, concerning the connection of the Museum with the immediate cultural environment of the region and, in particular, with the local history and the way in which this can be detected in the space.
The entrance to the Museum will be free for all giving the opportunity to visit both the permanent exhibition and in the regular photographic exhibition entitled ” Traveling in the eastern Mediterranean through the digital archive of Greek Civilization of the I. Korres (A.E.I.).” which began on 17/3 and will occurs up to the day (18/5) at the events hall of the Museum.
