The Union of Greece calls on citizens, especially those belonging to vulnerable and sensitive groups of populations, to be particularly careful because of the increased concentration in the atmosphere that has affected the country in recent hours. According to the Association of Pneumonologists of Greece, African dust contains transportable particles that can be incorporated with pollen, bacteria and fungi creating a particularly toxic and dangerous mixture for the human organism and especially for the respiratory system. The instructions of the Association of Pneumonologists At times with the highest concentrations of dust, both unnecessary movements and external sports should be avoided, while staying in well ventilated indoors is recommended. In the presence of clinical symptoms, such as difficulty in breathing, intense and irritant cough with possible dislocation, chest pain, persistent sneeze, lacrimation and voice gills, individuals should seek medical assistance and advice immediately. Strong recommendation for patients suffering from chronic respiratory problems, such as Chronic Pneumonopathy (CDP) and bronchial asthma, if they experience symptoms consistent with exacerbation or worsening of the stable path of the disease, be in constant contact with their treating physician, to possibly modify their medication and receive additional medical care.
