In public consultation amendments to the electricity and gas supply code

The Energy Regulatory Authority ( ) has publicly consulted the amendments to the provisions of Articles 39,42, 15, 18 and 28 of the Supply and Gas Code for the submission of a RAAEF opinion on the supplier change framework. RAAY notes that the proposed arrangements for a new supplier change framework are intended to meet the public interest objectives and to maintain the stability of transactions and liquidity in the retail electricity market, by safeguarding the consumer’s fundamental right to change a supplier without restrictions but also by preventing the misuse of that right by strategic underpaid persons following the accumulation of outstanding debts to suppliers.
