Huthi: China and Russia ships will not be targeted

and will not be at risk of being attacked on their ships by the Huthi who are based in Yemen and will be able to sail in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden without fear, according to Bloomberg sources from inside the guerrilla group. China and Russia reached an agreement after talks between their diplomats in Oman and Mohammed Abdel Salam, one of the top political officials of the Huthi, according to the same sources. In return, the two countries can provide political support for the Huthi in institutions such as the United Nations Security Council, according to Bloomberg. It is not entirely clear how this support will be expressed, but it could involve blocking more resolutions against the group. Representatives of the governments of China and Russia, as well as the Huthi, including Abdel Salam, did not respond to Bloomberg’s demands for commentary.
