According to the Hindustan Times, the 42χρονος groom got beat up in the middle of the road outside the area where was the marriage. The woman claimed that the man was her husband and that he would marry another girl, 18 years younger than him, without having been divorced from the same.
The police arrived at the spot and carried the groom and his relatives at the police station. He, however, claimed that he had taken divorce from his first wife and that he had documents to prove it.
