‘s departure from Greece said the supermarket chain Aldi, after less than two years of operation in the country.
The company said it intends to shut down 38 stores in Greece, adding that he is in discussions with interested parties for the acquisition and continued operation. It adds that it will focus on the remaining nine countries of the continent where it has presence, and the U.S..
Noted that in the past Aldi had referred to an ambitious investment plan for the Greek market in which foresees the addition of 240 stores in various parts of the country and running in major hub cities. Overall, the company employed around 700 workers in Greece, and just last May, had decided to reinforce it with a 25 million increase in share capital. Company H was chosen as the seat of the industrial area of Sindos.
This is the second resonant leaving Greece after that of the Fnac.
