Germany: Rosneft must present buyers for its assets

Soon she must present buyers for her assets to the Russian oil company, according to today’s statements (8.3.2024) by the Minister of State at the German Ministry of Finance, warning Berlin not to accept replacements that can allow the Russian oil company to buy them back. Michael Kelner’s statements were made one day after Germany extended its supervision over Rosneft’s local assets for the third time since 2022, avoiding the process of expropriation as Rosneft had shown her intention of finding a new buyer. “Now this is a Russian side issue to take serious initiatives to sell Rosneft Deutschland in the coming months and who it will present as potential buyers,” Kelner told Reuters.
