“George Zongolopoulos and contemporary artists: Forms and reasons”

the group art exhibition “a Silent presence: encountering the Ζογγολόπουλο 45 years after” curated by Iris Kritikou. The exhibition will run until 28 January 2017 (closed from 23/12/2016-8/1/2017).
In the context of the exhibition, Wednesday, 11 January 2017, at 19:30, in the auditorium of the hellenic American Union (Massalias 22, Kolonaki) is carried out open discussion with the title: “George Zongolopoulos and contemporary artists: Forms and causes”. Speakers at the event is the journalist of the newspaper Kathimerini, Nikos Vatopoulos, the sculptor, and teacher.P.K.Sq., George Χουλιαράς, the artist and partner of the George Zongolopoulos, Kostis (Triantafyllou), the curator of the exhibition Iris Kritikou and the director of the Institute of Georgios Zongolopoulos, Angel Μωρέτης.
In 1971, in the gallery of the hellenic American Union, Giorgos Zongolopoulos has launched a new chapter in the artistic career by presenting the groundbreaking exhibition “Kinetic Art”. Today, 45 years later, this anniversary becomes the occasion for a book exhibition of works of modern Greek sculptors and painters, around a nucleus of original works of George Zongolopoulos. In the exhibition, curated by art historian Iris Kritikou, presents works of: John Αδαμάκου, Kostas Ανανίδα, Andreas Arapaki, Nana Vetta, Marios Voutsinas, Markos georgilakis, George Γυπαράκη, Lena Ζευγαρίδου, Giorgos Lappas, Spyros Λισγάρα, Aphrodite Civilian, Barbara Mavrakaki, Stella Μελετοπούλου, Lina Bebi, Thanks Ναζλίδη, Stelios Panagiotopoulos, Artemis Papadima, Joy Platakis, Stefanos Souvatzoglou, Kostis (Rose), Richard, a lifetime movie and George Χουλιαρά in a visual dialogue with selected works of George Zongolopoulos.
Open to the public guided tours take place Monday 16 January 2017, at 18:00 and on Saturday 28 January 2017, at 12:30.
