French Naval Group prioritises Greek frigates

The French company Naval Group seems to be changing the schedule of the traditions of modern FDI that it manufactures, so that there are no delays for Greek. According to a report by the French website Mer et Marine, there will be a reordering in the series of deliveries of warships, with the fourth frigate built in the shipyards of Lorian and originally intended for the French Navy, eventually intended as the third FDI for Greece. The original construction program of the Naval Group shipyard was the first ship to be French, the frigate “Amiral Ronarc’h”, followed by “Kimon” and “Neorgarch” for Greece, fourth would be the French “Amiral Louzeau” and finally, as the 5th ship was scheduled the Greek “Formion”. Now, and after changing the schedule, the 4th ship under construction in Lorian will be the well “Formion”, and the 5th ship will be French. Essentially, the French Navy makes a “concession” to keep the schedule of deliveries for the Greek Navy. The French frigate “Amiral Louzeau” will now be delivered with a year’s delay. Salamis Shipyards delivered 5 blocks of third frigate F-603 “Formion” to Naval Group in early February. On 4 October 2023, the first Greek FDI type frigate “KIMON” was officially launched at Naval Group shipyards in Lorian, France. Source: onalert.gr
